Philanthropy

In addition to our business operations, we also want to give back to society and support specific themes that are aligned with our values. The philanthropy work of Rettig concentrates especially on the welfare of and education of children and adolescents.

New Children’s Hospital

In 2013, Rettig became one of the in-kind donors supporting the construction of the new Children’s Hospital in Helsinki. Our donation included Purmo Group’s heating products to a value of about EUR 1 million, as well as several months of engineering planning related to it. During the project we delivered more than 200 shipments to the construction site from six countries in Europe. For instance, there are more than 500 Delta radiators, and more than 100,000 m of Floortec floor piping for the building’s concrete core activation.

Partnership with HelsinkiMissio

HelsinkiMissio is a politically and religiously independent charity in Finland that is dedicated to a future without loneliness.  Rettig and HelsinkiMissio’s three-year partnership (2025–2027) provides much-needed volunteer support for families at the New Children’s Hospital. The collaboration focuses on strengthening and expanding HelsinkiMissio’s Family Friend program, offering practical assistance and support to families visiting the hospital.

Partnership with Unicef Finland

In Nepal Rettig’s support for UNICEF’s programme to improve the mental health services for children and adolescents started already in 2021 in the province of Karnali. In 2024 the work has expanded also to two new provinces in Nepal – Madhesh and Lumbini. UNICEF’s project supported by Rettig uses telemedicine to bring mental health services to children and adolescents who would otherwise have no access to them. The progress of the project is followed up closely by Rettig through annual reporting and field trips. One of the owners, Martina von Rettig, regularly visits Nepal to monitor the project.

In Sierra Leone Rettig supports in addition UNICEF’s children’s education program.
