In addition to our business operations, we also want to give back to society and support specific themes that are aligned with our values.
In 2013, Rettig Ltd became one of the in-kind donors supporting the construction of the new Children’s Hospital in Helsinki. Our donation included Purmo Group’s heating products to a value of about EUR 1 million, as well as several months of engineering planning related to it. During the project we delivered more than 200 shipments to the construction site from six countries in Europe. For instance, there are more than 500 Delta radiators, and more than 100,000 m of Floortec floor piping for the building’s concrete core activation.
In 2019 and 2020, we took part in Team Rynkeby, a European charity cycling team. Every summer Team Rynkeby rides to Paris to raise money for seriously ill children. In 2020, 57 local teams from seven countries raised about EUR 9 million to support organisations that help children. The Finnish teams raised almost EUR 1 million, which were directed to Sylva and Suomen Lasten Syöpäsäätiö Aamu.
In 2021, UNICEF started a programme to improve mental health services for children and adolescents in Nepal. The programme targets children and adolescents who are exposed to both social, cultural and economical challenges and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the donation Rettig Ltd supports UNICEF in strengthening systems and community engagement for child and adolescent mental health in Karnali, Madhesh and Lumbini provinces of Nepal.
